The Golubac fortress<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Golubac Fortress, which dominates the entrance to the Djerdap Gorge, was first mentioned in historical sources as a fortress with a Hungarian military crew. It was founded before the first mention, but it is not known who built it and when exactly in an exceptional strategic place. On medieval maps, the name of the fortress, although written in different languages, basically has the word dove, and the mystery of the name is revealed only by legends. The Golubac Fortress consists of the Inner Fortification with the highest defense tower in Upper Town, the oldest in terms of construction time, and the Outer Fortification, which together with the Palace and the tower that defends it, dates from the time of the despot Stefan Lazarevic.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBuilt at the very entrance to the \u0110erdap Gorge, the Golubac Fortress was an important medieval border fortification, built on an exceptionally strategic location from which it was possible to control both the waterway and the land route that connected the east and the west. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWith the Revitalization of the Golubac fortress project (2014-2019), the fortress was completely reconstructed and saved from decay. The main road was relocated, a visitor center was built, a pier for river cruise ships was installed, and the tourist area, which is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Serbia, was infrastructurally arranged.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
